I am now driving a different car. A Honda Civic Hatchback. I was bored the other night and decided to go out to the unactive naval base in Alameda and take some shots. Usually the parking lots with fences are closed but for some reason one of the gates was open when I was over there. Nobody was around and knew it was the best location to shoot at that night.
At the beginning of the summer I mentioned to my friend Pablo that I wanted to take pictures from an airplane. It turned out that he actually had a family friend who had a license and had previously offered to take him up for a tour of the Bay Area. Pablo contacted the pilot Bruce Poulton and arranged a date to go flying.
I went skating with my friend Pablo today and we came across a pretty unique spot. Its been a while since the last time I shot skating but I knew I wanted to get a shot. Plus it was another chance to take out and test my new camera. I quickly surveyed the area and then ran back to my car to get my camera. I came back with my 14-24mm and a 50mm. I really wanted to test out the 14-24mm some more and needless the say, the 50mm never made it on the camera…
Earlier this summer my friend Connor invited me to watch a basketball game in the city. It was the SF Pro-Am League that consists of a lot of college, D-League, and international players. Needless to say there is a lot of experience, athleticism and skill. Basketball being one of my favorite sports to shoot, I decided to go back and set up a backboard remote.
I started setting it up less than an hour before the game. It was rushed. No gobo. No tape on the focus ring. Didn’t clean the glass. Yeah, it was rushed. But it was a good chance to test out my new D3 and my 14-24mm.

The championship series is best of 3 and its tied at 1’s. Last game is tonight and I’m going to try to get there earlier and setup more properly. Possibly set up a strobe for some better lighting.
At the beginning of the college basketball season, Darren Moore from the UC Irvine basketball team facebooked me and asked me if I could shoot a few photos of him for a tattoo magazine (Urban Ink). Long story short, I shoot him and his tattoos, and later found out that I had gotten inked too.
Hello Scott, I think you take beautiful pictures but I think you also “dropped the ball” You were featured on Yahoo and probably had the opportunity to have LOTS of people visit your site, learn about your work, possible work for you – however, I didn’t like the layout of your site – not at all.
I found it difficult to manuever and it didn’t showcase your talent as a photographer. You should display some of your pictures on your first page with links to your articles. I’m sorry if this offends you, but I wanted to let you know how a general user would encounter your site. You could do much, much better.
Back on May 1st my friend Brandon Wong called me up to borrow some equipment for a shoot he had. I drove over to campus and brought all my equipment to the park. I ended up shooting a little for him and because our styles are definitely different, it worked out.
Below are a few of my photos from the shoot.
