LOS ANGELES ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY | TABITHA + DANNY

The day after Christmas our team met up with Tabitha and Danny down in Los Angeles to shoot engagement photos. We began by heading to the Griffith Observatory. We though that because it was the middle of the week that it would be pretty empty but to our surprise it was actually so crowded that they blocked cars from driving up to the top and we had to park near the bottom of the hill. So we really began our day by carrying all of our equipment on a hike. Then once at the top we were approached by a patrolman who informed us that if we were caught using any of our lighting equipment (stands, umbrellas, etc) we would be fined…not to worry though because we never let unexpected obstacles slow us down. Yeah it was extremely crowded but we found great angles to shoot from and Tabitha and Danny were in their own world as if nobody was there. After we finished up at the first location we then hurried over to Santa Monica Beach and Pier just in time for a beautiful sunset. Beautiful location, beautiful light, and a beautiful couple. It couldn’t have turned out more perfect. It was hard narrowing these photos down because there are just so many authentically beautiful emotions. Enjoy!

San Francisco Engagement Photography | Amanda + Patrick

On December 17th we went out to San Francisco with Amanda and Patrick for an engagement session. Rain was in the forecast but they wereย determinedย to make the best out of any situation. It was raining as expected when we picked them up inย Berkeleyย but as soon as we crossed the Bay Bridge into San Francisco the sky dried up and the clouds started to burn off. Weย definitelyย got lucky with the weather. We started out in Golden Gate Park at Stow Lake where we shot on a iconic bridge. It was actually pretty difficult because of the flat light and how large the bridge was but we worked a few different angles and came away with some great shots. Next we stopped by the Palace of Fine Arts which is always a classic location. The architecture is grand and Amanda and Patrick both wore beautiful colors to make themselves pop. Lastly we ended up at Baker Beach with clear skies and the Golden Gate Bridge as anย amazingย backdrop. The tide snuck up on them with a little splash but nothing that would stop them from taking some great photos. We had a great time shooting this couple and hope everybodyย enjoysย the photos!

Los Angeles Engagement Photography | Melissa + Josh

At the beginning of November we were lucky enough to meet up with Melissa and Josh down in LA and have a great time shooting some photos. Josh is a member of the LAPD so for our first location we shot at one is of the three training locations in LA. There was a nice garden area that turned out to have plenty of secluded spots and we also shot on the track with an iconic mural in the background. Next we shot at the famous 4th street bridge in LA which most people have seen in car commercials or movies. Lastly we headed up to the Griffith Observatory for the sunset. It was around 4pm that we arrived at the Observatory and the place was packed. Some of the shots look like there is nobody there but it didn’t come without patience and trying to direct traffic. It was a ton of fun going down to shoot in LA and at three new locations that we had never been to before. We look forward to shooting Melissa and Josh’s wedding later in the fall. Enjoy the photos!

San Francisco Wedding Photography | Elinor + Sam

On October 5th we were out shooting Elinor and Sam’s wedding in San Francisco. They traveled all the way from where they live in Switzerland to California where Elinor grew up and where much of her friends and family are. We met them for the first time about a week before the wedding and before that had only spoke on the phone and through email. It was great to finally meet them and just made us more excited for the wedding day. The ceremony took place at the famous Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco and was followed up by the reception at The Winery SF on Treasure Island. It was also a pleasure working with the wedding coordinator Melanie from MSH Events who kept everything on time and running smoothly. At the end of the night Elinor and Sam even gifted us some chocolate from Switzerland which didn’t last long…

San Francisco Engagement Photography | An-chi + Greg

At the beginning of October we went out to San Francisco for an engagement shoot with our good friends An-chi and Greg. Greg and An-chi have captained the Ultimate Frisbee team (Polar Bears) that I’ve played on for the past two years and having become good friends we were really excited for this shoot and knew that their chemistry off the field would be fun to work with. We made stops at the Golden Gate Bridge, China Town, California St/Market St Cable cars, and Pier 14. One of their big hobbies when not playing competitive Ultimate is Salsa dancing and Greg actually proposed to An-chi while Salsa dancing in Puerto Rico earlier this summer! We had a great time during the shoot and they even gave everybody in China Town a show as they showcased their dancing skills right in the middle of the street. Enjoy some of the photos!

Palmdale Estates Wedding Photography | Savina + Carl

On September 23rd I was out at Palmdale Estates in Fremont with my assistants Alyssa and Lee to shoot Savina & Carl’s wedding. Alyssa and I had met Savina and Carl for the first time earlier this summer down in L.A. where we shot their engagement photos. It was great seeing them again and catching up while we ran around and documented their special day. The wedding was held at Palmdale Estates in Fremont which was only a block away from the local Mission. The venue was beautiful and the weather was perfect too. After the ceremony we headed over to the Mission for some photos and then back to the Estates for the reception. My favorite moment had to have been when Savina threw her bouquet into the chandelier during the reception. It was definitely a show-stopper and a moment that I’m sure none of the guests will forget.
