Boundary Oak Wedding Photography | Katye + Rollyn

On September 15th we were out at Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek shooting Katye and Rollyn’s Wedding. We got to know Katye and Rollyn during a previous engagement shoot but even though we had only met them once before in person, it felt like seeing old friends when the wedding day came around. The location was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was our first time setting up a remote camera and we were really excited to try out a new and unique angle which it turned out pretty well. The whole day was a success and we wish Katye and Rollyn the best! Enjoy the photos!

Walnut Creek Wedding Photography | Claudia + Ross

On August 15th I finally shot a wedding as the main photographer and I’m happy that it was with this specific couple. I had gotten to know Claudia and Ross over the past few months through several photo sessions and have built a great relationship with them. The very talented David Karnowski joined me as a second shooter for the first time and our shooting styles and teamwork was fantastic. Although gloomy weather was reported in the forecast just days before the wedding it turned out to be a warm day with plenty of sunshine. We began our storytelling in a nearby hotel where the wedding party got ready. After that we headed to the Gardens at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek for a beautiful ceremony and reception. Besides a little delay to the ceremony everything went smoothly and Claudia & Ross’ wedding was perfect. Enjoy the photos!

Castro Valley Ranch Dress Photography | Claudia Sparks

I met up with Claudia during the week of her wedding at her friends ranch in Castro Valley for a dress shoot. Claudia’s friend owns a horse and wanted to take some photos of her in the dress with it. Shooting with a horse turned out to be just as interesting as I thought it would be. They are big and sometimes not comfortable with a lot of equipment, so we had move slow but work quickly in a limited amount of space. We also roamed around the ranch a little and got a few other shots of just Claudia in her dress. Check out the photos!

San Francisco Engagement Photography | Katye + Rollyn

On August 11th my assistant Lee and I met up with Katye and Rollyn for an afternoon in San Francisco. Both of them grew up in the Bay Area where they met back in high school. They were together for 14 years until Rollyn popped the question just a few months back and asked Katye to marry him. I really enjoyed going around to some of the San Francisco landmarks and getting to know them better. We began the afternoon over at twin peaks and then headed over to the Palace of Fine Arts. We also planned to shoot in front of the Golden Gate Bridge but the fogged rolled in early so we called it a day. In the short time that we had that afternoon I was able to observe a calmness and deep connection between Katye and Rollyn. Its inspiring to meet couples who have been together for a long time and who still have a powerful yet calm and understanding relationship. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next month!

San Francisco Engagement Photography | Natasha + Royce

Towards the end of April Royce and Natasha became the first couple that Alyssa and I went out to San Francisco to shoot an engagement photos with. They recently moved down to California from Washington and so we headed out to a few of the iconic locations around San Francisco, including Twin Peaks, The Palace of Fine Arts, and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was fun getting to explore and trek around the city with these two and we know they’ll be busy with planning as their wedding approaches at the end of the summer!

Carmel Valley Wedding Photography | Iris + David

On May 26th I worked alongside Thomas Gray as the second shooter at Iris and David’s wedding in Carmel Valley, California. It day started out with unexpected rain but luckily cleared up about 10 minutes before the outdoor ceremony began. The seats were quickly wiped down as the family and friends made their way out with umbrellas. When asked about the rain, David said “Iris wanted an outdoors wedding ceremony so I’m going to start this marriage off by giving her what she wants”. I was tasked with shooting David and his groomsmen prior to the ceremony while Thomas photographed Iris and the bridesmaids. Throughout the day I felt like part of the family as guests and other family members called me by my name as I roamed around during the day. I had a great time shooting Iris and David’s beautiful wedding and I wish them the best!
